What is the best Irish pub in the Boston area?
Ahead of St. Patricks' Day, we want to hear from you about your favorite bar for Guinness, corned beef, and Irish folk music.
After two years of postponements and cancellations, Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will return to a modicum of normalcy this year. The annual South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade is back, and Irish pubs and bars all around the Boston area are readying their green decor and perfecting their Guinness pours.
Even with many great Irish bars closing in recent years — pour one out for The Field and Doyle’s Cafe, to name two — there are still an overwhelming number of options for where to nosh on some corned beef and Irish stew and listen to some Irish folk music.
But where can one find the best Irish pub in Boston?
Your definition of the “best” Irish bar in the Boston area will likely vary based on personal preference. Do you prioritize a steady stream of live music, provided by the likes of The Burren or The Druid? Do you want a working-class bar like the Eire Pub? A classic dive like Brendan Behan Pub? Or do you want a giant space where you can raise a pint with 400 of your closest friends, a la Ned Devine’s?
We put together a list of some of our favorites, but we want to hear from you. Using the form below, tell us about your favorite Irish pub in the Boston area — whether it’s in the heart of Southie or a hidden gem in the suburbs — and why you think it’s the best.
