With family or a group of friends, it’s fun to take a trip to an amusement park over the summer, eating ice cream, taking pictures, and, for the adventurous, braving the twists and turns of some incredible rides.

New England is home to several parks where you can enjoy the day, whether you choose to board a ferris wheel or take a turn at bumper cars. There’s Six Flags New England, located in Agawam, home to Superman the Ride, a giant steel roller coaster with dramatic drops. In Salem, N.H., Canobie Lake Park has an antique carousel and a Sky Ride, similar to a ski lift, that offers scenic views.
