Morris Norvin turns junk into art.

A sculpture teacher and owner of Stonybrook Fine Arts in Jamaica Plain, Norvin specializes in taking items, like horseshoes donated by the Boston park rangers, and welding them into artistic creations. He may apply physical pressure to curve an item, he said, but overall he tries not to manipulate the material too much.

“I think reusing things and recycling things is, among a certain amount of the population, I think it’s taken for granted,’’ Norvin said.
