Uma Thurman, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, S. Epatha Merkerson, Mary Steenburgen, Jane Kaczmarek, and Omar Metwally are among the stars scheduled to appear onstage at Williamstown Theatre Festival this summer.

Thurman — who made her Broadway debut in 2017 in a new play, “The Parisian Woman’’ — will tackle a classic at Williamstown: Henrik Ibsen’s “Ghosts,’’ from July 31-Aug. 18, directed by Carey Perloff.

Merkerson, a stage veteran best-known for her work on TV’s “Law & Order,’’ will star in Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun’’ June 25-July 13, directed by Robert O’Hara. This year marks the 60th anniversary of “Raisin’s’’ history-making premiere, when Hansberry became the first African-American woman to have a play produced on Broadway.

“Modern Family’’ star Ferguson will costar with Steenburgen July 17-July 28 in “Grand Horizons,’’ directed by Leigh Silverman and written by Bess Wohl, whose “Small Mouth Sounds’’ just wrapped up performances at Boston’s SpeakEasy Stage Company. “Grand Horizons’’ will be one of five world premieres at Williamstown this summer.

Kaczmarek, who delivered standout performances at Williamstown in 2017’s “The Roommate’’ (opposite Merkerson) and in 2016’s “And No More Shall We Part’’ (opposite Alfred Molina) will return to the Berkshires for the world premiere of Sharyn Rothstein’s “Tell Me I’m Not Crazy’’ July 24-Aug. 3, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel. Metwally, recently seen in Showtime’s “The Affair,’’ will star in Sylvia Khoury’s “Selling Kabul’’ July 10-21, directed by Tyne Rafaeli.
