Making rounds to promote her new cookbook — and to discuss the charming tale of how her boyfriend of 19 years recently put a ring on it on the radio — is Medford’s own Maria Menounos.

While she held a signing Saturday in Boston at the Prudential Center’s Barnes & Noble, the E! News host made her way back to Los Angeles to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday. There, she told Kimmel that she worked on her cookbook, titled The EveryGirl’s Guide to Cooking, with her mom. Aw!

“My mom is an amazing cook,’’ she said. “She was a cafeteria cook in schools back in Boston.’’

Menounos’s mother, who hails from Greece, cooked for her family while Menounos was growing up, and Menounos said her mom’s cooking guidelines are what made her 40-pound weight loss in college possible.

“She mastered cooking really fast, delicious, healthy meals,’’ Menounos told Kimmel. “So we sat down together to write this book for the everygirl out there who wants to do the same.’’
