Ben Affleck’s 4-year-old son Samuel might’ve inspired him to take the Caped Crusader role in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, but that doesn’t mean Affleck’s going to let him see the movie. *Throws temper tantrum*
“Four years old is a little young to see this whole movie,” Affleck said in an interview with the AP on Friday. “I don’t want him to have nightmares.”
Batman v. Superman, which opens Friday and which premiered Sunday in New York City, is rated PG-13. Similar to Man of Steel, the Superman movie that came before it, the film has some dark themes and imagery. Affleck said that, of his three kids, his oldest daughter Violet, who is 10, will get to see the movie.
Affleck recently told The New York Times that Samuel is just over the moon that his dad is Batman, and that he has even gone as far as staging a fake fight with the FedEx guy because the little tot believes he’s the Joker.
Affleck did say that Samuel has seen all the available promos and trailers online. Affleck added to the AP that those two-minute clips are “his whole attention span anyway.”
