While all eyes are on Tom Brady’s everlasting battle with the NFL, your favorite earth goddess Gisele is helping the animals.
The supermodel announced her participation in the United Nations’ new campaign, Wild for Life, which seeks to end illegal trade in wildlife. In a promotional graphic for the campaign, which Gisele Instagrammed, a tagline reads, “I am Gisele Bundchen. I am a sea turtle.”
But this is not just an arbitrary declaration of animal identity. Some of the species in danger, like the sea turtle, are supposed to represent personality traits of the campaign ambassadors; Thu Minh is a rhino and Jacqueline Fernandez is a tiger.
Gisele is calling everyone to take part in the campaign, and in doing so, to find out what your kindred species is. (Which you can do here.)
“My own experiences of connecting with nature and animals have shaped the person I am today,” she wrote in a personal essay about the campaign for The Huffington Post, published Wednesday. “Nature never ceases to inspire me, and it is where I escape to recharge.”
