Uzo Aduba returned to Medfield as inductee of her high school’s Hall of Excellence
The actress attended the induction event last week.
Uzo Aduba—the actress/Emmy winner/Taylor Swift enthusiast who hails from Medfield and stars in Orange Is the New Black (which returns to Netflix for a fourth season tonight!)—came back to her hometown last week to accept an honor from her alma mater.
The Boston Globe reports Aduba was inducted into Medfield High School’s Hall of Excellence during the school’s Class Day ceremony on June 10. The actress graduated from Medfield High in 1999.

Though Aduba’s been busy between OITNB and a play in London’s West End, she’s kept in touch with her local roots. Earlier this year, she brought her old friend and high school prom date to the SAG Awards (where she won the award for Best Actress in a Comedy), and posed with a former Medfield teacher in London when the teacher flew out to see Aduba in The Maids. In 2015, she ran the Boston Marathon, and also accepted the Inspiring Young Alumni award from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, where she graduated in 2005.
