Barack Obama wasn’t the only celebrity visiting Martha’s Vineyard

A pair of actors was also spotted on the island recently.

Barack and Michelle Obama may have drawn the crowds on Martha’s Vineyard Monday night, but the former first couple isn’t the only set of notable figures to have been on the island recently.

Sylvester Stallone posted a pair of Instagram videos from the Vineyard over the weekend, joking in one that he was shipwrecked on an island called “Martha’s Barnyard.”

“Anyway, I’m surrounded, surrounded by poison plants,” Stallone said in the video. “And I will let you know I’m gonna get through this, and I’m gonna make it to that lighthouse and swim back to America.”

Another actor was spotted on Martha’s Vineyard, as well.

When Tonja Kahlens and her husband were on their way to catch a sunset at Menemsha Beach in Chilmark on Monday, a white VW swung a tight U-turn in front of them to get to the gas station near Larsen’s Fish Market on Basin Road. Kahlens said the man driving was wearing a sideways cap and a “Fun is good” T-shirt. After a gas station employee commented on how tight the U-turn was, the man replied, “That’s what she said.”

After a moment, Kahlens realized the driver was Bill Murray.

“I literally said out loud to my husband, ‘Honey that’s Bill F’n Murray, get your camera,'” Kahlens wrote in an email.

Kahlens said that after she introduced herself to Murray and asked for a photo, the actor kept cracking jokes about how to properly take a photo.

“He said, ‘Tonja, I’m Bill, and your husband needs to come to the other side of the car to get good lighting,’ and he rolled his eyes,” Kahlens wrote. “The entire time we were taking a photo he was talking about proper lighting. He was a doll and a real gentleman.”
