The Avengers have assembled — on Forbes’s 2018 list of highest-paid actors.
The publication released its annual roundup on Wednesday, with this year’s taking into account actors’ on- and off-screen pretax earnings between June 1, 2017 and June 1, 2018.
George Clooney, who didn’t appear in a single new movie this year, topped the list by making a cool $239 million. His impressive haul was mainly the result of the 2017 sale of Casamigos, the tequila company he co-founded, to British liquor company Diageo for $700 million, according to Forbes.
Dwayne “The Rock’’ Johnson once again earned the No. 2 spot on the list with an income of $124 million.
Meanwhile, Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., nabbed No. 3 and earned $81 million for his work, which was mainly comprised of Marvel endeavors. Chris Hemsworth came in at No. 4 with $64.5 million, thanks in part to 2017’s “Thor: Ragnarok.’’ And Massachusetts native and Captain America Chris Evans rounded out the list at No. 10 with a $34 million haul. The trio starred in 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War’’ together.
Others on 2018’s list included Jackie Chan (No. 5, $45.5 million), Will Smith (No. 6, $42 million), Akshay Kumar (No. 7, $40.5 million), and Salman Khan (No. 9, $38.5 million). New Hampshire’s Adam Sandler also made the cut at No. 8 with $39.5 million.
The 2017 Forbes highest-paid actor, Mark Wahlberg, did not make an appearance on this year’s list.
Forbes released its list of 2018’s highest-paid actresses last week and ranked Marvel actress Scarlett Johansson at No. 1 with $40.5 million.
