Michael Douglas is pulling double duty in Massachusetts next month.
The Academy Award-winning actor and producer is slated to receive two major awards here in November. Douglas will receive the Bette Davis Lifetime Achievement Award at Boston University on Nov. 28 and the Coolidge Award in Brookline on Nov. 29.
The Bette Davis Foundation and the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center will host a reception for Douglas, along with an exhibition of his archive at the event.
In addition to presenting the Coolidge Award, the Coolidge Corner Theatre will host a screening of the 2000 film, “Wonder Boys,’’ followed by a conversation and Q&A with Douglas. In the weeks following, the Coolidge will screen a number of Douglas’s movies.
Other recipients of the Davis Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award include Meryl Streep, Geena Davis, Susan Sarandon, and Lauren Bacall. Past Coolidge Award recipients include Werner Herzog, Jane Fonda, Viggo Mortensen, Zhang Yimou, Thelma Schoonmaker, and Streep.
