Local sports fans may have felt a little left out while watching Super Bowl 54 Sunday night, with the Patriots not playing in the big game for the first time since Super Bowl 50 in 2016.

That’s definitely how Mark Wahlberg felt, according to an Instagram post from the actor.

Wahlberg posted a photo of himself and wife Rhea Durham watching the game in a home theater Sunday night.

“Super Bowl Sunday without our PATS?,” Wahlberg wrote in the caption, adding the “pleading face” emoji to punctuate his feelings.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady got in on the emoji fun in the comments section as well, responding to Wahlberg’s photo with a lone “disappointed face” emoji ?.

Tom Brady commented on Mark Wahlberg’s Instagram post.

Wahlberg notably left Super Bowl 51 early when the Patriots were down 28-3 to the Atlanta Falcons, and he didn’t make the trip to watch the Patriots in Super Bowl 52 or Super Bowl 53.
