‘The Office’ cast reunited for a Zoom wedding with John Krasinski on ‘Some Good News’

John Krasinski and "Some Good News" welcomed back the cast of "The Office" in an episode dedicated to love.

Love was in the air on Sunday’s new episode of “Some Good News.”

For the seventh episode of John Krasinski’s YouTube show highlighting the positive news stories happening during the coronavirus pandemic, the Newton native officiated a Maryland couple’s wedding, with a little bit of help from fellow cast members of “The Office.”

Krasinski welcomed John and Susan, whose gas station proposal mirrored Jim Halpert’s proposal to Pam Beesly on “The Office.”

“You sent in I think the greatest proposal I’ve ever seen,” Krasinski said. “Congratulations guys, you now have proved that proposal works 100 percent of the time.”

Krasinski, a newly ordained minister, served as both officiant and the groom’s best man, while Jenna Fischer, who played Pam Beesly on “The Office” was maid of honor.

After a wedding song from country star Zac Brown, Krasinski welcomed back some of the cast members of “The Office” to perform at-home versions of the choreographed dance they performed during “The Office” wedding episode, including Cambridge native Mindy Kaling, Acton native Steve Carell, and Newton native B.J. Novak.

After the performance, Krasinski thanked the couple for giving joy to all the couples who have had to change their wedding plans due to the pandemic: “Thank you so much for being a part of this, you’re not only good sports and a beautiful couple, but you also represent all the beautiful couples in the world who are going through the exact same thing.”
