The fifteen young winners of the 2012 Steinway Society of Massachusetts Piano Competition celebrated with a performance at Symphony Hall in Boston.

Every spring, Steinway Society of Massachusetts conducts a piano competition for young pianists. Held at Steinert Hall of Boston’s M. Steinert & Sons, a proud sponsor of the event, the competition recognized five winners in three divisions for a total of 15 emerging piano talents. They gathered recently for a celebratory concert and the chance to brandish their musical talents on the big stage at Boston’s Symphony Hall.

The concert brought the lyrical sounds of Beethoven, Chopin, and Mozart back to life, and was a stunning example of how Steinway Society of Massachusetts, a not-for-profit organization, provides opportunities for young pianists to develop and hone their talents, while also inviting community enthusiasts to come and listen.

M. Steinert & Sons is the region’s authority on Steinway & Sons pianos with an impressive hall and show room on Boston’s Boylston Street and a second show room in Natick, Massachusetts. It has represented Steinway for more than 150 years and its support of Steinway Society of Massachusetts is just part of its effort to educate and foster musicians — it has its own piano academy with private lessons and classes for children and adults.
