Jay Z and Alicia Keys are visiting Harvard Business School
From the concrete jungle to Cambridge.
Jay Z, the renowned hip-hop mogul and self-proclaimed inventor of swag, will appear at Harvard with collaborator Alicia Keys this winter.
The two entrepreneurial musicians will speak at an event called “Transcend: Redefining Expectations’’ as part of the African-American Student Union’s 44th Annual H. Naylor Fitzhugh Conference along with former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and American Express CEO Kenneth Chenault.
The conference will take place February 5-7 at the HBS Soldiers Field campus and is open to the public.
The African-American Student Union (AASU) has been a part of Harvard’s community for more than 40 years. Co-presidents Erin Patten and Neil Wusu wrote on the Union’s website that the organization’s programs are “anchored around the convergence of these three principles: Uniting current students and alumni by maintaining connections with our history, empowering the AASU community by supporting each other during the HBS experience, and exhibiting leadership at HBS and beyond.’’
No details have been released as to what the two musicians will specifically speak about, but registration for the event has already begun.
