Steven Tyler cancels Aerosmith tour, seeks ‘immediate care’

Representatives for Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler announced Monday afternoon on social media that the band will cancel the remainder of its current tour to allow Tyler to seek “immediate care” for “unexpected health issues.” The Grammy-winning frontman has been “advised by his doctors that he cannot travel or perform at this time,” according to the post.

While the post did not specify Tyler’s health issues, it made clear that the singer should be fine.

“Steven is expected to make a full recovery,” the post said. “With proper rest and treatment he will be back on his feet soon rocking the world.”

The post also included a message from Tyler, who apologized to fans in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico for canceling the shows and reassured those who might be worried.

“I am not in a life threatening condition, but I need to deal with this right away, and get some rest and medical care immediately in order to sustain and maintain my future performances….” Tyler said in the post. “I promise I’ll be back…unfortunately, health does not wait and it’s something even I can’t schedule around our shows…..As they say, ‘We humans make plans, and God laughs….’ I love you all and will be back with you soon…..”
