Burlington native Amy Poehler is directing her first movie, and it will star several of her fellow “Saturday Night Live” alums.
The upcoming film, titled “Wine Country,” will be released on Netflix, and will feature former “SNL” stars Poehler, Tina Fey, Lexington native Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, and veteran “SNL” writers Paula Pell and Emily Spivey. Poehler is also producing the film.
Netflix announced the project with a grainy, handheld video of Poehler and the gang singing along to “Whenever I Call You Friend” by Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Wine Country” follows “longtime friends who go to Napa for a weekend getaway to celebrate a 50th birthday,” and will begin principal photography in Los Angeles and Napa by the end of March.
