Watch New Kids on the Block perform their biggest hits on ‘Good Morning America’
The boys in the band visited the show in honor of the 30th anniversary reissue of their breakout album.
New Kids on the Block still has “the right stuff,” more than three decades later.
In honor of the 30th anniversary reissue of their breakout album, “Hangin’ Tough,” all five NKOTB members — Jonathan Knight, Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood — put on a pair of performances on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
The band started with its new single, “Boys in the Band,” for which the group released a boy band history-filled music video on March 1. Then, after a brief interview, the quintet performed a medley of some of their biggest hits, including “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” “Step by Step,” “Please Don’t Go Girl,” and “Hangin’ Tough.”
Wahlberg had an amusing observation when asked how NKOTB’s upcoming Mixtape Tour (which stops in Boston on June 28 and 29) compares to the group’s 1988 tour.
“Well, we’re back with Tiffany, so that’s the same; she gave us really our big break all those years ago on her tour,” Wahlberg said. “I think it’s like being a pro athlete. As you get older in your career, everything slows down and you enjoy it more. But I’ll tell you what hasn’t changed: the enthusiasm of our amazing fans.”
