If you’ve been — spoiler alert — exiled to the coldest, most remote corner of the continent for the rest of your life, you should probably bring something to read.
“Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington stopped by R.J. Julia Booksellers in Madison, Conn. on Sunday afternoon, mere hours before the series finale of the hit HBO show aired. In the finale, Harington’s Jon Snow is banished to the northernmost reaches of Westeros as a member of the Night’s Watch.
R.J. Julia marketing manager Liz Bartek said that Harington told the staff he was “on holiday.”
“He browsed a number of sections in our store, including our staff suggestions area,” Bartek said. “We let him browse in peace. He did ultimately make a purchase, and we were thrilled to have him here in Madison.”
According to HBO, 13.6 million viewers tuned in to HBO for the 9 p.m. telecast of the “Game of Thrones” finale, a record for the network. Adding in viewers on HBO’s streaming platforms HBO Go and HBO Now, the number reached 19.3 million.
