It looks like Ben Affleck has been swept up in a new project.

The Hollywood Reporter announced on Thursday that the Cambridge native will star in the feature adaptation of novel “Falling to Earth” for Bron Studios. Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company Pearl Street Films will produce the project, along with Bron’s Aaron L. Gilbert.

“Falling to Earth” follows the aftermath of the worst tornado in U.S. history in 1925 Marah, Ill. Paul Graves (Affleck) deals with resentment from his small town community when he is the only person who didn’t lose his business, home, or family members in the natural disaster. Author Kate Southwood, who earned her MFA in fiction from the University of Massachusetts, released the novel to favorable reviews in 2013. Hillary Seitz is on board to write the screenplay.

Madison Ainley of Pearl Street will executive produce, and Garrick Dion and Solome Williams will oversee development for Bron. Bron is also the studio behind “The Way Back,” another Affleck-led project that hits theaters on March 6.
