Aly Raisman is joining a new fierce squad in theaters this month.
The Olympic gold medal gymnast and Needham native revealed that she has a small role in the upcoming “Charlie’s Angels” movie, which flies into theaters Nov. 15.
In a photo shared to Instagram, Raisman posed alongside three other famous faces who will also be making cameos in the film — Olympic gold medal snowboarder Chloe Kim and actresses Lili Reinhart (“Riverdale”) and Hailee Steinfeld (“True Grit”) — as well as Pittsfield native Elizabeth Banks (“The Hunger Games,” “Pitch Perfect”), who wrote, directed, produced, and acted in the movie
“Good morning Charlie ? I’m officially an angel ??♀️??♀️??♀️ (Is this real life?),” Raisman wrote. “Thank you so much @elizabethbanks & @sonypictures for including me in the new Charlie’s Angels movie. In theaters Nov 15!”
Unlike previous iterations of “Charlie’s Angels,” the upcoming film features multiple teams of crime-fighting angels who work for the Townshend Agency across the globe. The film focuses on a single trio of angels played by Kristen Stewart (“Twilight”), Naomi Scott (“Aladdin”), and Ella Balinska (“Midsomer Murders”), but given Raisman’s garb in the photo and her writing that she’s “officially an angel,” there’s a good chance she plays another Townshend Agency operative. Banks, meanwhile, is one of at least three Hollywood stars to play the role of Townsend employee Bosley, along with Patrick Stewart (“X-Men) and Djimon Hounsou (“Blood Diamond”).
