With no theatrical releases in the month of April due to the coronavirus outbreak, spring has been the season of streaming. Netflix even agreed to slow streaming speeds in Europe by 25 percent after EU officials asked the company to help “preserve the smooth functioning of the Internet” as hundreds of millions of people stayed home during the pandemic.

For now, it looks like May will likely hold more of the same, and companies like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime are responding in kind with plenty of new releases.

Here’s the full list of new movies and TV shows arriving on the three platforms, as well as our must-watch picks from each company.

Top pick: “The Graduate”

If you don’t have a copy of this 1967 Mike Nichols classic at home, now is the time to re-familiarize yourself with one of the best American movies of all time. Young Ben Braddock (Dustin Hoffman), who doesn’t know what to do with himself after graduating college, is seduced by the family friend Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft) before ultimately falling in love with her daughter (Katharine Ross). Fun Massachusetts tie-in: Charles Webb, who wrote the 1963 novel the film is based on, penned the book shortly after graduating from Williams College in 1961.

Top pick: “Space Force”

“The Office” creator Greg Daniels and the show’s star, Acton native Steve Carell, are teaming up for a new comedy on Netflix that lampoons President Donald Trump’s Space Force. Skeptical but loyal, Mark uproots his family and moves to Colorado, where he and his coworkers attempt to bring the United States back to the moon and give America “total space dominance.” Co-created by Carell and Daniels, “Space Force” boasts a deep supporting cast that includes John Malkovich (“In the Line of Fire”), Ben Schwartz (“Parks and Recreation”), Lisa Kudrow (“Friends”), Jimmy O. Yang (“Silicon Valley”), Noah Emmerich (“The Americans”), Diana Silvers (“Ma”), and Tawny Newsome (“Brockmire”). It lands on Netflix May 29.
