Garth Brooks performed a heartfelt rendition of “Amazing Grace” at Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration on Wednesday, asking attendees and viewers across the nation to join him in song.

Brooks removed his cowboy hat to perform the hymn, following Lady Gaga’s performance of the national anthem and a patriotic medley performed by Jennifer Lopez.

As he reached the final verse, Brooks asked ceremony attendees as well as viewers across the nation to sing along.

“Not just the people here, but the people at home, at work,” Brooks said. “As one, united.”
