John Krasinski will finally get his chance to host “Saturday Night Live.”
The Newton native will host “SNL” on Jan. 30 as the show returns from its holiday hiatus. Machine Gun Kelly is the musical guest.
Krasinski was originally supposed to host “SNL” on March 28, 2020, to coincide with the release of “A Quiet Place Part II,” but both his movie and his hosting gig were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ( The release date of “A Quiet Place Part II” was recently delayed again, moving from April 23 to Sept. 17.)
Krasinski shared the news on Instagram, adding the caption “Aaaaaand cue the pinching myself.”
“SNL” also announced the hosts and musical guests for its next two shows, with “Schitt’s Creek” star Dan Levy hosting Feb. 6 with musical guest Phoebe Bridgers, and “Watchmen” actress Regina King hosting Feb. 13 with musical guest Nathaniel Rateliff.
The show will also broadcast new episode on Feb. 20 and Feb. 27, but hosts or musical guests haven’t yet been announced.
