First it was “drunk Tom Brady.” Now, “Saturday Night Live” is skewering another Boston sports legend.

During “Weekend Update,” anchor Michael Che and cast member Punkie Johnson skewered Pierce for getting fired by ESPN on Monday shortly after posting a racy Instagram video featuring scantily clad women twerking and what appeared to be copious marijuana use.

Che played the straight man in the sketch while Johnson played a stripper who partied at Pierce’s house named “Pineapple.”

“Paul Pierce was fired from his job as an analyst for ESPN after filming a wild party on Instagram Live where he was surrounded by strippers,” Che said. “Here with more on that story is one of the strippers, Pineapple.”

Johnson was indignant about ESPN firing Pierce.

“I wanna know why Paul Pierce got fired for throwing one of the biggest parties of the year,” Johnson said. “Is it against ESPN policy to love big asses?

“Listen everybody, Paul Pierce is a saint,” Johnson continued. “He gave us strippers jobs during a very tough time.”

Johnson then pivoted from talking about Pierce to commenting more generally on the life of a stripper during the pandemic.

“Ain’t nobody out here looking out for us exotic dancers in this pandemic,” Johnson said. “I haven’t danced at the Golden Cobra in months. I even did a few Zooms but they didn’t work. Do you know how hard it is to clap your ass in front of the camera while somebody yell ‘Ey, you muted.'”
