Each year MassArt students and alumni offer hand-crafted work at the MassArt Made Spring Sale. All the hand-blown glass, ceramics, paintings, jewelry, and other items you purchase support MassArt artists and student scholarships. Through Saturday, May 10 at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Tower Building, 621 Huntington Ave. Daily hours 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Info at

If you think you can’t afford a piece of original art, think again. Items at the SMFA Spring Sidewalk Sale start at a mere $5. Peruse ceramics, photography, screen prints, handmade cards, jewelry, T-shirts, paintings, and more by 50 artists. School of the Museum of Fine Arts students display their wares along the Museum Road sidewalk on Friday and Saturday, May 9-10, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. In case of rain the sale moves indoors. Proceeds support the artists. For info visit
