Stomp through a snowy hike this winter

Embrace the cold.

REI Snowshoe Stomp

If winter gives you a bad case of cabin fever, you can face the cold with a snowy hike.

REI will host nine hiking sessions in January and February through the snowy grounds of Massachusetts. Each outing promises a two- to four-mile hike on snowshoes, followed by a warm-up with shared appetizers and a drink.

The sessions are in various areas, including the Rocky Woods in Medfield, Noanet Woodlands in Dover, Appleton Farms in Ipswich, and Ward Reservation in Andover. REI will supply the snowshoes, poles, and gaiters for the journey.

No experience is required. The first hike sets off on Jan. 29, followed by hikes each Tuesday through the end of March.

Snowshoe Stomp and Brews; various dates; various locations; $55 for members, $75 for non-members; 21+.
