“Tammy’’ actress Melissa McCarthy is Redbook’s July cover model! In addition to rocking sleek graphic print trousers (and what appears to be a T-shirt with a pug on it) for her cover shoot, the 43-year-old star also revealed that her plus-size clothing line is finally happening.

When asked why she decided to create the collection, McCarthy told the magazine:

“When I go shopping, most of the time I’m disappointed. Two Oscars ago, I couldn’t find anybody to do a dress for me. I asked five or six designers—very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people—and they all said no.’’

McCarthy studied clothing and textiles at Southern Illinois University (she later dropped out to pursue comedy) and told Esquirethat she originally hoped to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology , but her parents told her, “You are too nuts to be in New York City.’’ She first announced she that planned to design a line with her Emmy’s gown designer Daniella Pearl back in 2011, but as her acting career continued to take off, the project sat on the backburner.

In 2012, she told People StyleWatch, “We’re getting closer to starting a line. I hate to mention it now because people are going to say, ‘You’ve been talking about it for a year!’ but it is getting closer. I’m definitely excited!’’

While the issue doesn’t hit stands until June 10, we hope the ironed-out details of McCarthy’s line will be enclosed.
