Natick Mall shoppers will have access to groceries, plus a Mexican restaurant and a burger counter, when Wegmans welcomes shoppers to its sixth New England location this spring, according to a company statement.
The New York-based grocery store’s 146,500-square-foot, multilevel store in the mall will open April 29.
The location will include new Mexican restaurant Blue Dalia on the second floor of the store. The restaurant, led by Culinary Director Roberto Santibañez and Chef de Cuisine Geno Bahena, will debut May 4.
“The inspiration for the menu at Blue Dalia is my hometown of Mexico City and especially the energy of the markets that are so important to Mexican culture,” said Santibañez in a statement. “Guests will see centuries-old tortilla-making on display alongside crushed-to-order salsas, contemporary craft cocktails and of course, an extensive tequila and mezcal selection.”
The store will also feature the company’s second Burger Bar in the area. The other one opened at the company’s Medford location in November. The Burger Bar will serve burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and meals for kids at a casual counter inside the store.
The company will hire 225 full-time employees and 325 part-time employees at the new store, with most hires coming from Massachusetts, according to the statement.
