Do yoga in the gorgeous Wang Theatre lobby tomorrow

When you go to the Wang Theatre, you typically have plans to see a performance. On Wednesday, you have the chance to be part of the art, said local yoga instructor Jacqui Mimno, who will once again teach a vinyasa flow-style class in the Wang’s magnificent lobby.

Doing yoga in such a beautiful space, under the theater’s ceiling murals and chandeliers, is a special experience that adds to your practice, said Mimno, who’s the movement director at Boston’s Vega Vitality and has taught celebrities such as Matt Damon and Olivia Wilde.

The Wang Theater is especially significant to Mimno. She grew up in Andover and spent most of her childhood taking classes at the Boston Ballet, which formerly held their performances at the theater.

After the Pilates-infused practice and savasana under the art, the Wang will serve wine for all attendees.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the class will benefit arts education programs run by the Boch Center.

Wednesday, May 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Wang Theatre, 270 Tremont St., Boston; $20; all levels

Correction: A previous version of this article stated that the Boston Ballet holds performances at the Wang Theater. While they previously did, all Boston Ballet performances are now held at the Boston Opera House.
