6 Boston spots where you can buy a Christmas tree

If you haven’t yet bought a Christmas tree, there are plenty of Boston-area farms, markets, and garden centers eager to help you pick the perfect one.

“It’s been busy,” said Tara McKay of McKay’s Christmas Trees in Brighton. “I would encourage people to shop early.”

Allandale Farm in Brookline

When you take a gander for a tree at this Brookline farm between now and Dec. 23, you can also take one of its several wreath-making workshops on offer this month.  The trees, the largest of which are 12 feet tall, cost between $34 and $159, depending on size and type. You’ll also find wreaths, garlands, ornaments, poinsettias, and baked goods if all that shopping makes you hungry. (259 Allandale Road, Brookline) 

Bonny’s Garden Center in Cambridge

Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16., this Cambridge garden center will provide free photos with Santa. That day and every day between now and Christmas Eve, you can shop for trees as tall as 12 feet for $13.95 to $150, as well as wreaths, ornaments, and poinsettias. (41 Bay State Road, Cambridge)

Boston Christmas Trees in Allston

You’ll find trees up to 12 feet tall, as well as tree stands, wreaths, garlands, and mantle pieces at this Allston spot open daily through Dec. 24. Trees cost between $20 and $120. (22 Harvard Ave., Allston)

Kelly’s Christmas Trees in Boston

Customers who buy a Christmas tree at this city lot, now in its 10th year, are entered into a Christmas Eve raffle, said owner Rev. Dannie Kelly. Kelly said he’ll choose three winners on Dec. 24 and award $150 for first place, a $50 gift card to Stop & Shop or Shaw’s for second place, and a tree refund plus a wreath for third place. Kelly’s trees, which are up to 12 feet tall, range in cost from $24.95 to $200, depending on the size and type, and can be delivered for a fee of $20. You can take a selfie in front of a 14-foot inflatable Santa while shopping at this family-owned spot in Brighton, open through Christmas Eve. The trees here range in size from tabletop-able to 12 feet tall and range in price from $25 to $100. Also for sale: wreaths complete with handmade bows, kissing balls, garlands, tree stands, lights, and ornaments. (360 North Beacon St., Brighton)

Ricky’s Flower Market in Somerville

Not interested or able to strap a tree to the roof of your car? No problem. This Union Square market, open through Dec. 24, will deliver your tree to your home and set it up in its stand. Its trees, which stand at up to 12 feet tall, range in price from $19.98 to $99, and cost on average $20 to $25 for delivery. The market also sells decorative potted Christmas trees in all sizes, tabletop trees, wreaths, garlands, poinsettias, and mistletoe. (238 Washington St., Somerville)
