Aly Raisman’s 2019 is looking a bit calmer.

In a video posted to Instagram this week, the Needham native wished everyone a happy new year and shared one of her resolutions for 2019.

“I wanted to share something that has helped me so much over the last year,’’ Raisman said. “I have been meditating pretty much every single day since April. It has completely changed my life. I used to get terrible headaches all the time and now I rarely get them.’’

An Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics, Raisman spent part of 2017 and 2018 testifying and speaking out against former coach Larry Nassar, who was convicted last year on charges of sexually assaulting minors and being in possession of child pornography.

Raisman has since become an outspoken advocate.

“It’s one of my New Year’s resolutions to meditate at least once a day, so I’m hoping some of you guys can join me,’’ Raisman added.

She referenced the app Insight Timer, a meditation app, and has been sharing some of the routines she has tried, including “Grounding Meditation and “Finding Love Within.’’ She launched meditatewithaly.com in partnership with the app.
