Nantucket is about to get a taste of Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle. Or, more accurately, her lifestyle brand.
Goop, the newsletter turned destination for all things beauty, food, style, travel, wellness, and work launched by Paltrow in 2008, will set up shop on the island starting May 10.
The space will marry elements of Goop’s aesthetic with New England tradition. Nantucket architecture, Scandinavian summer homes, and Shaker design elements were among the sources of inspiration for the store’s designers, Jessica Wilpon Kamel and Christina Akiskalou, both principals of interior design and architecture firm Ronen Lev.
“We wanted to showcase Goop’s beautiful curation of products in a space that embraced the traditional charm of Nantucket,” Wilpon Kamel said in a press release. “Nantucket has a rich history of design, and we wanted to honor that heritage while also bringing our own design sensibilities to the space.”
The pop-up will come together as a general-store-beach-house hybrid complete with a bar cart — a mainstay in every Goop pop-up. This one comes stocked with diamond-cut crystal glasses, glassware, bar accessories, and Ketel One Botanical cocktails.
Local shoppers will be able to browse a set of beauty, fashion, home, wellness, and specialty goods curated for “quintessential summer moments.” This means products such as Sperry boat shoes, Alo Yoga activewear, Vintner’s Daughter skincare, and GreenPan cookware in a blush color exclusive to Goop. For summer-specific needs, beach chairs, pool floats, and towels will be offered.
Of course, Goop’s own product lines will also be available, including its latest skin care release — the $125 Goopglow 15% glycolic acid and fruit extracts overnight glow peel.
Goop MRKT Nantucket will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and remain at its Centre Street post through Sept. 24.
