The winds of change are blowing in the local television world.

Pamela Gardner, who until earlier this fall worked as the weekend evening meteorologist at WBZ-TV, is joining NBC10 Boston and NECN as a meteorologist. Her first day on-air will be Thursday, Dec. 13.

According to a press release from the station, NBC10 Boston viewers can watch Gardner weekdays during the noon newscast and during the 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. evening newscasts alongside weather partner Pete Bouchard, while NECN viewers can see Gardner during the weekday afternoon broadcasts.

Bouchard welcomed his new weather-watching partner in a tweet on Monday.

“You know her well, but now she’s ours…all ours!” Bouchard wrote. “Super warm welcome to meteorologist @Pamelanbcboston⁩ !!! We already have her cooking up a nice nor’easter for Christmas.”

Fellow NBC10 Boston meteorologist Matt Noyes also had kind words for Gardner on Twitter.

“Had a wonderful lunch this afternoon with @Pamelanbcboston, proudly welcoming her aboard as our newest member of the @nbc10boston team!” Noyes wrote. “Pamela, I’ve admired your work in Boston for years and I’m so happy you will help to make our team even stronger!”

Ben Dobson, the vice president of news for NBC10 Boston, Telemundo Boston, and NECN, was similarly effusive in his praise of Gardner.

“We have been searching for a meteorologist with not only expertise, but also passion,” Dobson said in the release. “Pamela exemplifies those qualities and more, which make her a very welcome addition to our family.”

Prior to her time at WBZ-TV, Gardner worked at stations in three different cities in Indiana, most recently as the weekend evening meteorologist at WISH-TV in Indianapolis.
