J.K. Rowling’s ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Film Gets Release Date

Warner Bros. announced that the first film installment of J.K. Rowling’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’’ will arrive in theaters Nov. 18, 2016, confirmed Variety. The “Harry Potter’’ spinoff will be made up of three “megamovies’’ based on the 54-page book written as a companion to the popular series.

The films will take place seven decades prior to Harry’s Hogwarts days and will focus on “magizoologist’’ Newt Scamander in New York. Casting for the upcoming films is currently under wraps, but we’ll keep you posted as news is released.

In related news, details for an upcoming Gringotts (the wizarding bank, for all of you MUGGLES) area of Universal Studios’ Harry Potter-themed park also emerged today. The new area will feature “a 60-foot dragon atop Gringotts Wizarding Bank, a labyrinth of Gringotts vaults, and a marble hall with goblins.’’
