Comic-Con International: San Diego has turned into an annual pop culture mecca, where TV, movie and comic-related news is unveiled in an exclusive fashion, and this year’s event chock-full of exciting announcements.

Here are the five biggest things you should know from the weekend of festivities:

1. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1’’

The official teaser trailer for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1’’ was revealed and it’s a lot juicier than the messages we’ve been getting from President Snow. The minute-long clip features the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays Plutarch Heavensbee, talking to the leader of the rebellion, President Coin, about Katniss’ power: “She’s the face of this rebellion, they’ll follow her.’’ It also includes our first look at the Mockingjay herself, played by Jennifer Lawrence, in the third of the four planned films. Is it November 21 yet?

2. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’’

Attendees got a first look at Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’’ AND they were treated to an up close and personal look at the film’s new Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot (and her costume), Batman (Ben Affleck), and Superman (Henry Cavill). Snyder was booed by the audience before the actors came out because he made the crowd think he didn’t bring any footage with him (sneaky). He saved himself when he admitted he brought a “teeny’’ sneak peek (the teaser trailer that we can’t find anywhere — sorry!). Snyder and his cast left the stage without answering questions and headed back to finish filming (we’ll allow it) the flick, which comes out May 6, 2016.

3. ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5

Whoa. It looks like the folks at AMC listened to reviews of what TVLine called a “pretty lame’’ season 4 finale, because the next season looks wild. The trailer has enough action in it to fill an entire episode. Season 5 will follow Rick and his friends as they can make a run for Washington in search of a potential cure for the zombie epidemic—if they can get along with the Terminus crew which was holding the group captive at the end of season 4. “The Walking Dead’’ premieres on October 12.

4. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’

“Guardians of the Galaxy’’ hits theaters this week, so we weren’t expecting to hear that the film already has a sequel in the works, but that’s exactly the news we got from the film’s star, Chris Pratt, this weekend. The first film, which also features Zoe Saldana and the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, already has a 9.1 star rating on IMDB.

5. Freddie Prinze Jr. Slams Kiefer Sutherland

Let’s hope Freddie Prinze Jr. doesn’t need Jack Bauer to save his ass anytime soon. The 38-year-old actor, who played Cole Ortiz on 24 episodes of “24’’ (coincidence?), had nothing but awful things to say about the show and its star, Kiefer Sutherland, while he was at Comic-Con promoting his upcoming Disney XD series, “Star Wars Rebels.’’

“I did ‘24,’ it was terrible. I hated every moment of it,’’ Prinze Jr. told ABC News. The “She’s All That’’ actor added that, “Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face, I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.’’

Apparently the gig was so traumatic for Prinze Jr. that he wanted to quit the business after he wrapped the series. Since his stint on “24,’’ he’s been in a couple of TV series episodes (including “Witches of East End’’ and “Bones’’), but otherwise, he’s been pretty quiet. There’s no word (yet) on Sutherland’s thoughts.

Other notable news from Comic-Con:

•Kurt Sutter’s FX drama “Sons of Anarchy’’ will live on as a book after the show’s seventh and final season finale.

•The cast of “The Avengers’’ unveiled footage from “The Avengers: Age of Ultron’’ (which comes out May 1, 2015), but just like the “Batman v Superman’’ teaser, we can’t find it anywhere.

•The cast of Paul Rudd’s upcoming film “Ant-Man’’ was revealed (and confirmed), including the roles of actors Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll.

•“Harry Potter’’ star Daniel Radcliffe dressed up as Spider-Man— and no one knew it was him. In his plain clothes, Radcliffe was asked if he’d play the role of the wizarding boy wonder again. His answer: “Never say never.’’

•Nine new “Game of Thrones’’ characters were revealed and the crowd was treated to a blooper reel from the show, but sadly, no season 5 footage.
