Bill Simmons has found the subject of his next Ringer Films project for HBO, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

‘Showbiz Kids,’ which will be executive produced by the Marlborough native and Glen Zipper, is set to be a documentary surrounding the experience of child actors.

Interviews with famous former child actors will be featured in the film. Alex Winter, a former child actor himself, will direct the project. ‘Showbiz Kids’ may be released in 2020, according to Deadline.

“I have been fascinated by this specific topic for an especially long time, so grabbing the chance to explore it with people as talented as [Winter] and Glen [Zipper] was one of the all-time no-brainers for me and everyone else at Ringer Films,” Simmons told THR. “There’s a high degree of difficulty for this one, but I also think that’s what makes it so appealing.”

Ringer Films is a division of  The Ringer, Simmons’s part-sports, part-pop culture media company. ‘Showbiz Kids’ will be the second product of Ringer Films. The first, ‘Andre the Giant,’ premiered last April.
