It’s a not-so-quiet casting.

The Hollywood Reporter was first to report that Cillian Murphy is in talks to join the sequel to Newton native John Krasinski’s hit horror flick, “A Quiet Place.’’ Details of the follow-up have been kept largely under wraps, but it’s slated for a May 15, 2020 release and will once again star Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. Krasinski is once again signed on to write and direct the movie.

The original film followed a family forced to live in silence to hide from a creature that hunts by sound. Real-life married couple Krasinski and Blunt co-starred as the parents.

Murphy, who currently stars in BBC’s “Peaky Blinders,’’ is best known for his roles in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy and “Dunkirk.’’
