In his newest flick, Chris Evans portrays a heroic figure sans cape. The Red Sea Diving Resort — the cinematization of a 1980s operation that allowed thousands of Ethiopian-Jewish refugees to flee to Israel through an abandoned Sudanese resort — released its first trailer on Tuesday.
“Just for the record, there is not one person in this group that I would’ve chosen for this type of mission. You’re all too reckless,” Ben Kingsley’s character announces at the trailer’s opening, giving way to quick glimpses of action that include speeding vehicles, running, and a mid-flight brawl.
Evans and Michael Kenneth Williams (“The Wire”) star as operation leaders intelligence agent Ari Kidron and local Kabede Bimro, respectively. The team is joined by the likes of Haley Bennett (“The Magnificent Seven”), Alessandro Nivola (“Face/Off”), and Michiel Huisman (“Game of Thrones”). Chris Chalk (“Detroit”) and Greg Kinnear (“As Good as It Gets”) also costar. The film is written and directed by Gideon Raff (“Homeland”).
The Red Sea Diving Resort will be available to Netflix subscribers starting July 31.
