Taylor Swift Debuts ‘Shake It Off’ Video, Announces ‘1989’ Album

Feline and best friendship enthusiast Taylor Swift announced her fifth studio album titled “1989’’ during a Yahoo! livestream in New York on Monday afternoon. The album is named for the year of Swift’s birth and was presented as her “first documented official pop album.’’

“1989’’ officially drops Oct. 27 and will come with a multitude of bells and whistles for fans — including a bonus 13-pack of Polaroid-style photos that comes with each physical copy. (She dropped a Polaroid clue earlier this month, also alluding to her Polaroid cover art.) Swift went on to tease a “Swiftstakes’’ that will coincide with her next tour, details for which we suspect will come in an a sooner-than-later announcement. The deluxe version of the album will also feature three bonus voice memo song tracks from Swift’s phone.

The 24-year-old singer-songwriter also revealed the first single from the album, “Shake It Off,’’ and its accompanying video by Grammy-winning director Mark Romanek. Team Swift cast professional dancers as well as several of fans chosen from Swift’s social networks. “They have kept the secret that they were in this music video for two months,’’ she said

“Shake It Off launched on iTunes today, as did the “1989’’ album pre-order with an Oct. 27 release.
