Hopper is getting in on the National Donut Day action.

The folks at the travel startup put together an interactive map called “The Donut States of America’’ to help you find some awesome sweet and savory ringed treats in honor of National Donut Day (June 6).

Hopper’s data science team went through “thousands of travel blogs’’ and ranked more than 150 shops from awesome (represented by a donut hole) to the best (a frosted chocolate glazed donut) depending on the amount of times each had been written about.

Some quick facts:

1. The cities with the highest donut density are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland, Ore., and Las Vegas.

2. The top 5 most blogged about donut shops in the country are NYC’s Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop, Philadelphia’s Federal Donuts, San Francisco’s Dynamo Donut + Coffee, Portland, Ore.-based Voodoo Doughnut, and Chicago’s Glazed and Infused.

3. Three Boston-area restaurants made the list of the most blogged about shops that feature donuts (not exclusively) and they’re all in Somerville (Saloon, Highland Kitchen, and Union Square Donuts).
