The ever-growing Fenway neighborhood will have yet another addition at the end of this month—Tatte Bakery & Café will open its doors on Monday, Oct. 30.
The newest location for the popular café chain was slated to debute earlier this month, but a delay in the city licensing hearing date pushed the timing back, owner Tzurit Or said.
The Fenway location is Tatte’s seventh brick-and-mortar in the Boston area. An eighth storefront is planned for Back Bay later this year. The local chain was acquired last year by Panera, but Or maintains a minority share and operations control. The acquisition has allowed her to grow the chain much more quickly and efficiently than she would have been able to on her own, she said.
“We can hire more people, better people, now,” Or said. “It’s been really great.”
The new Fenway location has been about a year in the making, according to Or.
“The neighborhood is changing,” she said. “Fenway has a lot going on now, and it’s important for us to be a part of that change.”
In light of the cafés’ success locally, Or said that she intends to expand beyond Boston.
“We have a growth plan,” she said.
Tatte Fenway will offer a similar menu to the other Tatte locations, including an array of coffee and espresso drinks, house-made cakes and pastries, sandwiches, and breakfast items.
The new location will be open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
