Looks like New Years Eve day is going to bring us a shot of much needed new SNOWFALL.
This is great news!
S.G. Thought: Take one last vacation day from the job in 2008 and make a ski trip happen tomorrow. Maybe it is just a day trip. Maybe you can spend a New Years Eve in the mountains.
Honestly, it looks like the best snow is going to fall on the southern ski areas. The Day Trip is a solid pick, especially if you already have NYE plans and need to be back in town for the ball drop.
Whatever you do, be assured the skiing will have greatly improved with the 3-6 inches of powder. It will begin to fall early Wednesday morning and continue all day. The snow should be of the dryer sand lighter type (the kind the squeaks).
Further Out: There is also talk of all sorts of weather this coming weekend. All the reports I have seen so far are scattered. Not sure any meteorologist is willing to stick their neck out that far when they have a guaranteed snow maker in the near term to concentrate their efforts on…
Happy New Year!
Ski & Drive safely!
