Cold temperatures have snow guns blazing at ski resorts across the Northeast, and the ability to create snow at a more efficient rate than in the past. While a handful of areas, including Sunday River, Killington, and Okemo, remain open, the weather has allowed other ski areas to open in advance of their anticipated dates.
That’s the case in New Hampshire, where Bretton Woods and Loon Mountain Resort, both slated to open over Thanksgiving weekend, both announced this week that they’ll be open for skiing and riding on Friday. Loon will have $29 lift tickets for all ages on Friday, while Bretton Woods will offer $39 adult lift tickets. Bretton Woods will also be collecting perishable food items on Friday to be donated to local food pantries. The donation of one can earns you one, free run for the day.
