If you’re traveling to Paris before August 10, we’ve got an unbelievable hotel deal to tell you about. There are five Paris hotels experimenting with “honesty rates.’’
In other words, you can pay what you want.
Why are they doing it? Aldric Duval came up with the idea to promote his three-star hotel in the city’s Opera district, Tour d’Auvergne. The typical rate at his hotel is about $250, reports CNN.com. Duval recruited four other three- and four-star hotels to join him — Villa Opera Lamartine, Villa Boheme, Plaza Opera Hotel, and the Grand Hotel Francais.
“We put guests at the heart of the system and we transform them into a mystery customer,’’ Duval told the website. “They will look at the hotel with a new eye and if they play true in this game, it can work.’’
Guests must book through the website www.payezcequevousvoulez.net (which means pay what you want).
What if folks only want to pay as little as $1 for a night’s stay?
“If the client wants to pay one euro, there’s nothing I can do, but people will know that this approach is not a good deal, we’ll explain it’s not fair if they pay one euro,’’ said Duval.
Yeah … good luck with that.
