Half a dozen hotels across New England are among the best in the world, according to the readers of Travel + Leisure magazine.
At No. 15, the top-ranked New England hotel on the list was Twin Farms, an all-inclusive country retreat set on 300 acres in Barnard, Vermont — which also took the No. 1 spot on the magazine’s list of Top 10 hotels in the Northeast. The spot “feels like a magical summer camp for grown-ups,” the publication wrote. The magazine noted its two-room lodge, 10 cottages, four-suite farmhouse, four-room main house, the chef’s “multicourse extravaganzas” that include lemon soufflé pancakes (named one of T+L‘s best dishes in the country), a 15,000-bottle wine cellar, and activities that include snowshoeing, downhill skiing, fly fishing, and canoeing.
Rabbit Hill Inn in Lower Waterford, Vermont, ranked No. 30. After that, four Massachusetts spots landed on the list: Wequassett Resort & Golf Club in Chatham (No. 54), Blantyre in Lenox (No. 70), White Elephant Village on Nantucket (No. 82), and The Inn at Hastings Park in Lexington (No. 96).
The hotels were scored for their rooms and facilities, location, service, food, and overall value, then awarded a numerical score based on those ratings. T+L tabulated the results with the assistance of digital marketing firm Wylei.
