Two Boston tours just received high quacks — er, praise — from TripAdvisor users.
On Tuesday, the travel site revealed the winners of its first-ever Travelers’ Choice Awards for experiences. The Boston Duck Tour ranked No. 8 on a list of top 10 experiences in the U.S. (The No. 1 experience in America: “New York in One Day Guided Sightseeing Tour” in New York City.)
“Boston is best seen by land and water, and this duck tour takes travelers from Boston Common to the Charles River on a single excursion, all while riding in a rolling, floating piece of American military history,” TripAdvisor wrote. “Traveling by vintage, World War II amphibious vehicle, travelers will see beloved Boston neighborhoods from city streets and the river.”
Additionally, the Boston Hop-on Hop-off Trolley Tour nabbed the No. 6 spot for top 10 hop-on, hop-off experiences in the world. (The winner in that category was the “Barcelona City Tour Hop-on Hop-off” in Barcelona, Spain.)
Visitors explore “the best that Boston has to offer” on the Boston Hop-on Hop-off Trolley Tour, TripAdvisor wrote. The orange and green trolley bus makes stops at essential attractions such as the USS Constitution, the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, and Fenway Park. The tour also includes free admission to the Old State House and Dreamland Wax Museum and half-off admission to the Old North Church.
TripAdvisor determined the list winners by taking into account millions of opinions and reviews from users on TripAdvisor and Viator, which is a part of TripAdvisor Experiences, between May 2017 and May 2018.
