A New England airport was just named among the best in America by Conde Nast Traveler readers, and it’s probably not the one that first comes to mind.
Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Conn. ranked No. 3 on a list of the best airports in the U.S. as part of the travel publication’s 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards, released earlier this week. (The No. 1 airport in the land was Indianapolis International Airport in Indianapolis, Ind.)
CNT wrote that the midsized Connecticut airport has become “an attractive alternative to flying out of New York’s and Boston’s monster hubs” due to its variety of flights, on-site parking, free WiFi, generous amount of charging stations, restaurant options, and relaxed atmosphere.
“More travelers are discovering Hartford, Connecticut’s airport—now New England’s second-busiest airfield after Boston Logan—thanks to a wide spate of flight choices, including Aer Lingus’s flights to Ireland, and Spirit’s services to Florida,” the publication wrote.
CNT readers also rated airlines and named the following five the best in the U.S.: Alaska Airlines (No. 1), JetBlue Airways (No.2), Hawaiian Airlines (No. 3), Southwest Airlines (No. 4), and Delta Air Lines (No. 5).
Editors compiled the Readers’ Choice Awards based on the results of an online survey available to readers between April 1, 2018, and June 30, 2018. The survey contained listings of hotels, resorts, islands, airports, airlines, cities, and cruise ships. More than 429,000 readers submitted ratings, according to the publication.
