A Vermont ski resort was just named among the best ski hotels in North America because of its luxe amenities and proximity to the trails.

The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vt. ranked No. 5 on USA Today’s list of best ski hotels in North America, released on Friday. (Viceroy Snowmass in Snowmass Village, Colo. nabbed the No. 1 spot.)

“Surrounded by the natural beauty of Vermont, The Lodge at Spruce Peak (formerly Stowe Mountain Lodge) is one of the only ski-in, ski-out accommodations in the northeast, offering easy access to Stowe Mountain Resort,” the publication wrote. “Guests of the luxury lodge have access to an alpine concierge, ski pros, a full-service spa and fitness facility and adventure programming for the whole family.”

USA Today also revealed its list of best cross-country ski resorts, on which Jackson Ski Touring Foundation in Jackson, N.H. ranked No. 10. (No. 1 was Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, Colo.)

“The Jackson Ski Touring Foundation operates a Ski Touring Center with some of the East Coast’s most popular groomed and backcountry trails,” the publication wrote. “Skiers glide past quintessential New England sights–covered bridges, quaint villages and steepled churches.”
