Skiers and riders looking to tackle the famous champagne powder snow of Steamboat Springs, Colo. can now board a direct flight there from Logan Airport on JetBlue.
The airline announced the beginning of the seasonal nonstop service on Saturday. JetBlue also initiated a nonstop service to Steamboat Springs from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Long Beach, Calif. Travelers on the new routes will fly into Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Hayden, which is 30 minutes from downtown Steamboat Springs. The Logan flights are available on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and guests travel on JetBlue’s Airbus A320.
Also known as Ski Town USA, Steamboat Springs was just named the No. 3 ski town in North America by USA Today readers. (New England spots North Conway, N.H. and Stowe, Vt. ranked No. 2 and 8, respectively). It’s located within the Park Range of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains and is comprised of six peaks: Christie Peak, Mount Werner, Pioneer Ridge, Storm Peak, Sunshine Peak, and Thunderhead Peak.
